The Sign is an urban regeneration project transforming the area where Vedani Foundry used to be located back in the 1950s into a Business District and to serve the city. It includes three office buildings, a public square, green spaces for the community and a wide range of retail outlets. The project comprises three sizable buildings featuring alternating glass windows and gold-trimmed facades. In the central area lies a transparent motif, serving as the center's namesake, depicting a fluid movement representative of the dynamic workforce. During nighttime, this motif illuminates, resembling a constant electric surge. Over 27,000 square meters focused on change. It originates from the pedestrian flow coming from Romolo underground station. It then crosses the buildings and square and creates a path formed by materials and traces of light on the pavement. On the façades, it emerges in the luminous glass curtain wall extending between interruptions in the metal skin. The Sign project integrates design and adheres to the LEED environmental certification protocol, combining building-plant engineering for efficiency and interior comfort. It achieves sustainability and efficiency goals, being rated as Near Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) in energy class "A" with no local emissions and LEED Platinum certified. The project also attains the Good level of BiodiverCity.
