The area redesign project encompasses two main components: a new skyscraper named Torre Botanica, featuring 1,700 square meters of vegetation distributed across multiple floors, altering the facade color seasonally, and the redevelopment of the former municipal office building at Via Pirelli 39, including a glass cladding and a rooftop panoramic terrace. The Recovery and Resilience Plan focuses on three strategic development areas: ecological transition through real estate decarbonization and sustainable mobility, social and regional inclusion prioritizing environmental protection and social equality, and digitization and urban modernization. Urban regeneration emphasizes limiting environmental impact and redeveloping existing structures, retaining over 70% of the current buildings. A distinctive bridge crossing Melchiorre Gioia will reconnect the area, featuring a greenhouse promoting biodiversity, akin to New York's High Line. This greenhouse will offer immersive educational experiences, serve as event and exhibition spaces, and function as a laboratory for climate and environmental impact. The project emphasizes resource conservation and low-impact construction techniques. The former Pirellino office tower will integrate 2,770 square meters of photovoltaic panels, enabling self-production of 65% of its energy needs, and incorporate wooden structural elements saving up to 3,600 tons of carbon dioxide during construction.
