Oberholz Hut, located at 2,000 meters in the Dolomites, is a stunning example of contemporary alpine architecture. The cantilevered structure extends from the hillside like a fallen tree, with three branches pointing toward the surrounding mountains. Each branch culminates in a large glass facade, framing breathtaking views of the peaks. Inspired by traditional South Tyrolean huts, the sloped roof and branching form provide a modern interpretation of alpine design. Inside, the hut features a visible curvilinear wood structure that blends into the walls, creating cozy "pockets" of space that reinterpret the classic "Stube" – intimate wooden rooms rooted in regional culture. Constructed entirely from local woods—spruce for the structure, larch for the facade, and oak for the furniture—the hut harmonizes with its natural surroundings. The building contains a restaurant and lounge, connected to a terrace that offers expansive views, making it a perfect retreat for both winter skiers and summer hikers.
